How to Apply for the Norway Entry Visa to Get Residence/Work Permit

  • The job must be full-time.
  • You must have the qualifications of a skilled worker.
  • If you’re going to work in an occupation for which authorization is required, you must receive such approval. For instance, health personnel must enclose a license or authorization from the Norwegian Directorate of Health.

How to apply for the Norway entry visa

The visa application process is quite straightforward as long as your documents are complete and accurate. After you’ve applied, the visa takes three months to process.

  • You must apply at the Norwegian embassy. A Norway entry visa costs 6300 NOK (about 650 USD)
  •  Submit an application for a visitor’s visa but make sure you write in the application that you wish to be granted an entry visa (D visa)
  • If you haven’t already applied for a residence permit, now submit all the documents on the checklist for skilled workers.
  • The embassy will consider your request for an entry visa. If your application is turned down, you can write an appeal to the embassy. Then, your application will be reviewed and sent to the UDI before it’s approved or rejected.

The Norway entry visa has its benefits. Skilled workers granted the Norway entry visa can immigrate with their immediate families under the family immigration visa plan. However, these individuals must earn at least 306,700 NOK per annum before bringing their families over. They must also be able to support their dependents financially.
